The 14th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 28 to 31 July 2015.

The main objective of the Conference remains to promote and encourage the development of transport services and systems that meet the needs of people with some sort of disability through the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experience. The conference is hosted by IST (Técnico) (www.ist.eu) with the support of several official entities.

IHCD's Executive Director, Valerie Fletcher, will be one of the speakers at Aging + Place: Designing Housing & Communities for Aging Populations at the Harvard Graduate School of Design on October 17, 2014. The event will be a half-day to discuss opportunities in architecture, planning, and policy to enhance older adults’ well-being through affordable, accessible, well-connected housing, as well as through models of long-term care that support aging in place. It is free and open to the public.

Milestone Architecture’s exhibition, timed to coincide with the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale, "Ancient Presence, Modern Projection: Torcello - Venice, Italy" immerses the visitor in a contemporary experience of Venetian-Byzantine structures located on the island of Torcello.  Conceived as a participatory exhibition, live feeds connect Torcello with installations in New York and Venice.
