Peter Papageorge from Listen Technologies Presents on Assistive Listening & ADA Compliance

Peter Papageorge

Assistive listening is covered under the ADA, yet all too often whenever ADA is mentioned, we think about wheelchair access. The percentage of people that need wheelchair access is under 2%, yet hearing loss affects an astounding 17%. For architects it is important to understand the ADA needs of every project, including assistive listening. This presentation, geared specifically towards architects, provides a comprehensive overview of the legislative requirements for assistive listening. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about hearing loss, the largest disability covered under the ADA, the specific types of assistive listening technologies, and other pertinent building code requirements.

Peter Papageorge is Vice President of the Americas for Listen Technologies. Founded in 1998, Listen Technologies' product solutions deliver the ability to listen (not simply to hear) in many different groups or gatherings. The company thrives on innovation, leading to the delivery of exceptional wireless communication tools. The tools and solutions are often used for assistive listening, language interpretation, tour groups and in a very long list of other applications.

A light lunch will be served.
